Kashmir First Multiplex: After 32 years, cinema will return to the valley, Aamir Khan and Rajamouli’s film will be shown

After the removal of Article 370 and 35A, cinema halls will be started in Shopian and Pulwama of Jammu and Kashmir. Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has inaugurated both these multiplexes on Sunday. However, due to ‘Shraddha’, plans are being made to start commercial operations of these cinemas from next week. That is, next week the people of Shopian and Pulwama will be able to enjoy cinema on the big screen. According to the information received from the sources, the screening of Aamir Khan’s film will be done in the theaters going to open after 32 years.

RRR became the first film to be screened in the valley

After the launch, people of all age groups visited the new cinema halls in Pulwama and MC Shopian. During this, the trailers of Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, RRR, Swades and Bose: The Forgotten Hero were shown to all. Along with this, a screening of SS Rajamouli’s film RRR was also organized for the students. That is, after three decades, the first film to get screening in Kashmir is RRR. At the same time, multiplexes in Srinagar will start with a special screening of Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha from Tuesday.

Why were there no cinema halls in Jammu and Kashmir till now?

32 years ago today, 19 cinema halls were closed one after the other due to terrorist threats and attacks. However, in 1999, the Farooq government tried to open Regal, Neelam and Broadway, but in September, a grenade attack took place on Regal. After which Regal was locked and the people of Kashmir had to travel 300 km to Jammu or any other place to watch movies on the big screen.

How will be the first multiplex of the valley?

Kashmir Valley’s first multiplex Inox is ready in Srinagar. It has a capacity of 520 seats. It will have three auditoriums. Sources say that the Lt Governor can inaugurate it on September 20. With its launch, the audience will be able to enjoy watching cinema on the big screen.
