Leena Gangopadhyay, the writer of Ekkadokka, Guddi, Dhulokana, did not like watching Bengali serials at all! If someone saw the serial, he would turn the channel himself!

There is no person who does not know the name of Leena Gangopadhyay. All the popular serials Kojagari, Punyi Pukur, Binni Dhaner Khai, Fagun Bau,, Subarnalata, Ishtikutum, Saat Pake Bandha, Kund Phule Mala, Desh Mati, Mohar, Kharkuto, Srimayi, Andar Mahal starting from the popular serials of the present time Dhulokana, Ekkadoka, Guddi is all out of his pen. Since 2004, he has been penning the Bengali television world, then almost 18 years have passed and he has given the viewers one popular series after another.

He started his writing with ETV Bengal’s Sonar Harin serial, followed by several serials in his long career. Many may not know that Leena Gangopadhyay, who watched so many serials herself, did not like watching serials at all. He himself said that once someone watched a serial in his house, he used to change the channel himself.

Leena spent her school life in Kamala Girls School and Sister Nivedita School. After that he graduated from Ramakrishna Mission. Leena was originally a Bengali professor in a college, so naturally she had a distinct interest in writing. While teaching after passing graduation from Calcutta University, he got an offer from a production house to write a story for a serial and from that time he started writing as a film writer, but later this writing became his identity.

Currently Sun Bangla and Colors Bangla also broadcast two of his serials, one is Sundari and the other is Sona Roder Song. Sona Roder song series is also very popular. Many people don’t like her writing because her writing shows the complexities of relationships, but nevertheless it has to be said that Leena Gangopadhyay is a name in the world of Bengali television whose contribution to the world of television is undeniable.
