The 1992 film, Damage. British director Louis Mall took the story from a novel of the same title. Nudity, intimacy, lust, physical relationships everything that is very real, he showed on the screen. The habit of looking at such pictures was made by Paoli Dam from a young age.
At a very young age, he talked to world films. He found the meaning of the film. So when he acted in ‘Mushroom’, he saw that character as one of the other five characters. There was a storm of controversy in West Bengal over the portrayal of nudity and sexual relations. Some directly condemn, some criticize or mock. “A lot of people might love the debate,” Paoli said. But I’m not like that. Do not enjoy the debate. In my opinion, why talk bad all the time? I can say good things too. ‘
Paoli says that even in popular Hollywood movies like ‘Titanic’, nudity is easily portrayed. So after the release of an intimate scene in ‘Fungus’, Paulie was surprised to hear a negative reaction about her being naked. She never imagined that the audience would talk about her being naked, not the picture!
If he has to act in nude scenes again next time, will he? Paoli replies, ‘If I understand that my mind, soul and body have come together for that character, I will. This is important for any character. I surrender myself to myself and to that character. If the opportunity arises to play a character where all of this will happen, then there is no problem with nudity. ‘
