SP Balasubramaniam (Sripati Panditaradhula Balasubramaniam) was born on 4 June 1946 in Madras in a Telugu family. His father, Late S. P. Sambamurthy, was an artist who also acted in plays. His mother Shakuntalamma was a housewife. He has two brothers and five sisters, including singer S. P. Shailaja is also included. According to the reports, Balasubramaniam has been given the S.P. Also known as sand or spb. Apart from being a singer, SP Bala Subramaniam was also a composer, music director, actor, dubbing artist and film producer. His friends affectionately called him ‘Balu’.
