Cybercrime is increasing. Common people are losing everything in the trap of fraud. Some are getting involved in cybercrime unknowingly. According to a recent survey, Kolkata tops the number of cyber frauds in different cities across the country. In the first three months of the current financial year, i.e. from April to June, around 71 lakh cyber frauds were sprung in the city. Many people have lost everything by stepping on it.

Quick Hill Technologies Ltd conducted a nationwide survey on cyber security. Cyber experts have collected detailed information about which cities of the country are experiencing more cyber fraud, and what are the strategies used by fraudsters to cheat people. It was found that Kolkata is far ahead in cyber fraud among the metro cities of the country. Then Pune and Delhi took place respectively.

Incidentally, cybercrime is increasingly entering the personal sphere as well. It appears that fraudsters are calling from unknown numbers and telling customers that they are calling from the cyber department in Delhi or Mumbai or customs. Customers are being tricked in various ways by impersonating their government officials. They are being asked for bank or Aadhar-pan details or are being intimidated and told that they have many fake accounts or they are cheating by anonymously placing thousands of SIM cards. If customers don’t believe, they are being made to believe by showing them fake government documents stamped by RBI or customs. After that, their urgent and personal information is taken. Customers are being cheated with identity cards, bank, and Aadhaar details.

It is to be noted that a person from Kolkata lost lakhs of rupees while filling out Airtel vouchers a few days ago. He was similarly duped by showing Airtel stamped papers and sending emails. After settling the bill on his credit card, he found that lakhs of rupees had been withdrawn from his account. The cyber department of Kolkata Police recovered that money. Calcutta Police informs that if any link comes or is emailed from an unknown number, do not open it at all. Know that all these are being controlled by some hackers.
