For the time being, the BJP will not allow anyone to join the party before the polls. This was stated by BJP All India General Secretary Kailash Vijayavargy after Rajiv Banerjee joined him at Amit Shah’s residence in Delhi on Saturday.
After Rajiv’s joining the BJP on Saturday, there was growing speculation that more political leaders would shift ahead of the polls. The announcement of Kailash on that day practically poured water on that speculation.
On the same day, Kailash said in Delhi, “We are stopping joining the BJP anew before the elections. No one else will be allowed to join for now.
According to political circles, there could be three reasons behind this decision. First, the leaders who were targeted by the BJP have joined. Second, the incessant joining is creating resentment among old BJP workers in various places. Which may result in the opposite of hite. Third, assembly elections will be announced in a few days. In this short time, it is not possible to use the newcomers in the team. When the election is announced, the leaders will be more busy in preparing the list of candidates and publishing the manifesto. So the decision to stop joining for now.
Rajiv Banerjee, Vaishali Dalmia, Rathin Chakraborty, Prabir Ghoshal and Parthasarathy Chatterjee joined the BJP holding Amit Shah’s hand after flying to Delhi on a special flight on Saturday afternoon. Later actor Rudranil Ghosh reached there. He also joined the BJP.
